Women's Golf claims its first win of the spring at Polar Beaver Spring Easter Classic

BEAVERDAM — The Ohio Northern women's golf team earned its first win of the new spring season at its co-hosted Polar Beaver Spring Easter Classic on Friday and Saturday.
The Basics
- Ohio Northern finished 1st of 7 teams with rounds of 321 & 325 for a total of 646.
- ONU Season Record: 34-22 Overall.
- Heidelberg finished in 2nd place, going 332-327--659 and Alma (Mich.) took 3rd with rounds of 349-344--693.

- Senior Marisa Alfes (Bellbrook) finished 2nd of 48 golfers with a 76-81--157 on the par-72, 5548-yard course.
- Freshman Addison Williams (Bristolville/Bristol) tied for 3rd place, going 79-81--160.
- Sophomore Taylor Blackburn (Liberty Township/Lakota West) took 8th place with an 83-81--164.
- Sophomore Mallory Meister (Milan/Edison) tied for 9th place, shooting 83-82--165.
- Playing with the B-team, freshman Lainey Schleich (Bellbrook) finished tied for 18th, going 87-91--178.
- Freshman Danika Eagle (Fort Wayne, Ind./Northrop) also tied for 18th with rounds of 92-86--178.
- Playing with the B-team, freshman Myra Batra (New Delhi, India/Shiv Nadar School) took 22nd place, shooting 89-92--181.
Notables
- 11 Polar Bears competed in the two-day tournament.
- Alfes maintains the team's low 18-hole average of 76.9.
- Head coach Chad Bucci is 561-337-2 in his 13th season at the helm of the ONU women's golf team, a winning percentage of .623.
