Alfes claims fourth Medalist honor of the season, leads Women's Golf to second place finish at Polar Bears Classic in Kentucky

HEBRON, Ky. — Senior Marisa Alfes (Bellbrook) won her fourth event of the fall season on Monday as the Ohio Northern women's golf team finished second at its Polar Bear Classic in Hebron, Ky., under brisk and windy conditions.
The Basics
- Ohio Northern finished 2nd of four teams with a 64-over-par 352.
- ONU Season Record: 28-11.
- Otterbein took team champion honors with a 57-over-par 345. Capital was third with a 372 and Marietta was fourth with a 386.
- Venue: Traditions G.C. - Hebron, Ky.
ONU Individuals
- Alfes won Medalist honors for the fourth time this season, going 6-over par 78 in the 30-player field.
- Freshman Myra Batra (New Delhi, India/Shiv Nadar) was 6th with a 16-over-par 88.
- Sophomore Taylor Blackburn (Liberty Township/Lakota West) took 49th place with an 87-84--171.
- Freshman Lainey Schleich (Bellbrook) and Freshman Addison Williams (Bristolville/Bristol) both finished T7 with 17-over-par 89s.
- Freshman Hannah Huggins (Granville) was T9 with an 18-over-par 90.
Notables
- Alfes was followed up by her high school teammate, Alayna Meyer of Otterbein, who took 2nd place with a 10-over-par 82.
- Alfes will keep her top-60 national ranking heading into her final semester as a Polar Bear. She entered the tournament ranked #56 nationally.
- Head coach Chad Bucci is 553-324-2 in his 13th season at the helm of the ONU women's golf team, a winning percentage of .630.
