Women's Golf wraps up regular season with second place finish at Otterbein Easter Leftover Tournament

SUNBURY — The Ohio Northern women's golf team wrapped up its regular season with a second place finish at the Otterbein Easter Leftover Tournament on a warm and very windy Monday.
The Basics
- Ohio Northern finished second of three teams with a 53-over par 341.
- Otterbein won the team title with a 336 and Marietta was third with a 392.
- ONU Season Record: 39-17.
- Venues: NorthStar G.C. - Sunbury, Ohio.
ONU Individuals
- Three Polar Bears finished in a tie for third out of 18 golfers with 13-over par 85s.
- Senior Amelia Burger (Centerville), junior Marisa Alfes (Bellbrook) and freshmen Taylor Blackburn (Liberty Township/Lakota West) all carded 85 in the difficult conditions.
- Freshman Mallory Meister (Milan/Edison) was seventh with an 86.
- Freshman Stella Burns (Medina) was 11th with a 95.
Notables
- This was the final of four regular season tournaments that Ohio Northern is scheduled to participate in this spring prior to the OAC Championships April 25-27.
- Thus far this season, Alfes leads the team with an 81.0 average for 17 rounds, with Burger right behind at 81.8 for 16 rounds.
- Blackburn is third at 85.5 for 15 rounds.
- Head coach Chad Bucci is 517-313-2 in his 11th season at the helm of the ONU women's golf team, a winning percentage of .623.
