Burger, Alfes share Medalist honors, lead Women's Golf to victory at Jimmy Hanlin Golf Classic

Senior Amelia Burger (Centerville) and junior Marisa Alfes (Bellbrook) were Co-Medalists, leading the Ohio Northern women's golf team to a 136-stroke victory at the Jimmy Hanlin Golf Classic Sunday and Monday.

- Ohio Northern finished first of four teams with an 83-over par 332-323—655.
- Capital was second with a 394-397—791, Marietta was third with a 412-390—802, Ohio Wesleyan was fourth with a 429-405—834 and Hiram was fifth with a 474-440—914.

ONU Individuals
- Burger and Alfes were Co-Medalists with 17-over par 160s on the cold, snowy and windy two days.
- Freshman Mallory Meister (Milan/Edison) was third with an 85-79—164.
- Freshman Taylor Blackburn (Liberty Township/Lakota West) was fifth with an 87-84—171.
- Freshman Stella Burns (Medina) tied for ninth with a 99-93—192.
Notables
- This was the second of three regular season tournaments that Ohio Northern is scheduled to participate in this spring prior to the OAC Championships April 25-27.
- Burger and Alfes have now each won Medalist honors three times in their careers.
- Thus far this season, Burger and Alfes share the team lead with 80.5 averages for 14 and 15 rounds, respectively.
- Blackburn is third at 84.8 for 13 rounds.
- Head coach Chad Bucci is 511-309-2 in his 11th season at the helm of the ONU women's golf team, a winning percentage of .623.
