Junior Heather Comer named OAC Women's Golfer of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern junior Heather Comer was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for the week of Sept. 15-21.

Comer won Medalist honors with a career-low 83-83—166, leading the Polar Bears to a come-from-behind victory at the 6-team Heidelberg Fall Invitational Saturday and Sunday at Mohawk Country Club in Tiffin.

The Polar Bears (16-12 overall) trailed Columbus State by 10 strokes, 353-363, after the first round.

But ONU rallied with a final round 346, led by Comer's second consecutive 83, and defeated the Cougars by 17 strokes to win the tournament.

Comer currently ranks second on the squad in scoring through six rounds with an average of 87.0 strokes per round.

The Polar Bears will wrap up their fall schedule Oct. 10-11 at the Wittenberg Fall Invitational.
