Women's Bowling opens 2025-26 campaign with record-breaking performance at Midwest Collegiate Championships

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. — The Ohio Northern women's bowling team opened its 2025-26 season in record-breaking fashion at the 42-team Midwest Collegiate Championships Saturday and Sunday.

The Basics

• Ohio Northern was 38th of 42 teams with 6,083 pins for five regular games and 16 baker games.
• Venue: 5 Star Lanes - Sterling Heights, Mich.
• The tournament consisted of 5 games on Saturday, then 16 baker games on Sunday.
• The top eight finishers advanced to match play series for the title.

ONU Individuals

• Freshman Mylie Galigher (Bowerston/Conotton Valley) led the Polar Bears with a 5-game series of 806, which included a high game of 209.
• Sophomore Cait Rogers (Pickerington/North) rolled a 763 with a high game of 199.
• Senior Cindy Durliat (Findlay/Liberty Benton) had a 727 with a high game of 192.

• The Polar Bears were 38th in the team standings with a school-record 3,646 pins for five games on Saturday, averaging 145.8 pins per game.
• ONU averaged 152.3 pins per game in its 16 baker games on Sunday.
• ONU broke its previous 5-game series team record of 3,579 pins by 67 pins.
• Galigher's 806 series is the fifth-best in ONU history.
• Her 209 is the eighth-best in school history.
• Rogers' 763 series is the ninth-best in ONU history.
• Milligan (Tenn.) won the team title with 7816 pins, Judson (Ill.) was second with 7776 pins and Aquinas (Mich.) was third with 7764 pins.
