Taylor Wagner scores career-high 10 points, but Women's Basketball falls 59-46 at Muskingum

NEW CONCORD — Freshman Taylor Wagner (Versailles) scored a career-high 10 points, but the Ohio Northern women's basketball team fell 59-46 at Muskingum on Saturday afternoon.

• Wagner also had five rebounds for the Polar Bears.
• Junior Courtney Sumner (Ada) had a career-high nine boards to lead the team.
• Sophomore Emerson Gray (Liberty Center) had nine points and eight rebounds.
• Junior Liv Mueller (Defiance/Tinora) added eight points.
• Junior Lexee Brewer (Sidney) had a team-high four assists.
• Muskingum was led by Claudia Harrington with 12 points.
• The Muskies started the game on a 7-0 run.
• A layup from Gray at the buzzer cut Muskingum's lead to 17-15 going into the second quarter.
• The Muskies extended their lead to 27-19 going into halftime.
• ONU went on a 9-0 run in the third quarter, with a three from sophomore Charlotte Pauling (Beavercreek) cutting the Muskie lead to two points, 30-28.
• Muskingum led 42-36 going into the fourth quarter.
• Northern started the fourth quarter with four quick points, cutting Muskingum's lead to two once again.
• The Muskies went on an 11-0 run, including three 3-pointers, to extend their lead to 53-40 with 5:22 left in the game.
• Ohio Northern made 19-of-67 field goals for 28.4 percent and was 3-of-30 from beyond the arc for 10.0 percent, while Muskingum was 21-of-56 from the floor for 37.5 percent and finished 8-of-29 on 3-pointers for 27.6 percent.
• The Polar Bears made 5-of-10 free throws for 50.0 percent and the Muskies were 9-of-10 from the line for 90.0 percent.
• ONU out-rebounded MU 44-32.
