Emerson Gray scores 17, but Women's Basketball falls to Otterbein 77-43

ADA — Sophomore Emerson Gray (Liberty Center) scored 17 points, but the Ohio Northern women's basketball team fell to Otterbein 77-43 on a snowy Wednesday evening.

• Gray also had a team-high six rebounds.
• Junior Gabi Croft (Spencerville) also had a team-best six boards and added six points.
• Junior Lexee Brewer (Sidney) tied her career-high of five assists.
• Junior Courtney Sumner (Ada) led the Polar Bears with two steals.
• Otterbein went on a 7-0 run in the first quarter to make the score 12-4 with 3:54 left to play in the quarter.
• The Cardinals led 17-10 at the end of the first.
• Sophomore Logan Phillips (Troy/Miami East) made a three to start the second quarter for the Polar Bears.
• Otterbein went on a 13-0 run mid-second quarter to make the score 35-16 with 1:08 left in the half.
• Senior Liz Key (Liberty Township/Lakota West) made a three-pointer with 25 seconds left in the half to break the Cardinal scoring streak.
• Otterbein led 38-19 at halftime.
• Gray started the second half with a made free throw and a layup.
• Croft ended the third quarter with a tip-in to cut the Cardinal's lead to 56-37.
• Otterbein went on a 13-0 run in the fourth quarter to make the score 69-40 with 4:12 left to play.
• Ohio Northern made 15-of-45 field goals for 33.3 percent and was 5-of-14 from beyond the arc for 35.7 percent, while Otterbein was 27-of-55 from the floor for 49.1 percent and finished 9-of-17 on 3-pointers for 52.9 percent.
• The Polar Bears made 8-of-13 free throws for 61.5 percent and the Cardinals were 14-of-17 from the line for 82.4 percent.
• OU out-rebounded ONU 31-29.
