Women’s Basketball ranked No. 18 in Week 8 D3hoops.com poll, No. 20 by WBCA

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's basketball team is ranked No. 18 in the Week 8 D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll.
The Polar Bears (15-2 overall, 9-1 OAC) received 196 points in the poll and fell four spots from last week's poll in which they received 303 points and were ranked No. 14.
Northern is coming off Saturday's 68-61 loss at Marietta that ended a 12-game win streak.
The Polar Bears are currently tied atop the Ohio Athletic Conference standings with Baldwin Wallace, which is ranked No. 10 in the poll. Northern defeated Baldwin Wallace 53-51 on Jan. 11 and will face the Yellow Jackets again on Feb. 8.
Trinity (Tex.) is the top-ranked team in this week's poll, receiving 616 points and 18 of 25 first-place votes.
Transylvania (Ky.), Christopher Newport (Va.), Scranton (Pa.) and Smith (Mass.) round out the top five.
The D3hoops.com poll is voted on by a panel of 25 coaches, sports information directors and media members from across the country and is published weekly.
Northern is also ranked in this week's Women's Basketball Coaches Association Top 25 Poll, which was released on Tuesday.
The Polar Bears received 52 points and are tied with Elizabethtown (Pa.) at No. 20 in the poll.
Northern received 92 points and was ranked No. 15 in last week's poll.
Christopher Newport is the top-ranked team in the WBCA poll, receiving 246 points and seven of 10 first-place votes.
Trinity, Transylvania, Scranton and Smith round out the top five.
Baldwin Wallace received 169 points and is ranked No. 8.
The WBCA NCAA Division III Coaches Poll Committee is composed of one head coach from each of the 10 NCAA Division III conferences.
The Polar Bears return to action on Wednesday at OAC foe Wilmington at 7 p.m.
