Four named Academic All-District in Softball by College Sports Communicators

ADA — Ohio Northern senior Kylie King (London/Jonathan Alder), junior Carlie Schroeder (Wapakoneta) and sophomores Clare Flory (Marcellus, Mich.) and Avery Neth (Williamsburg) were named Academic All-District in softball by the College Sports Communicators forthe 2026 season.
King, a psychology major, is now a two-time Academic All-District honoree. She batted .265 on the season with 18 hits, 10 RBIs and seven doubles. Behind the plate, she threw out eight runners stealing.
King finishes her career with a .244 batting average, 58 hits, 23 RBIs, eight doubles and 32 runs scored.
Schroeder, Flory and Neth are now first-time Academic All-District selections.
Schroeder earned Second Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors this season after leading the team in batting at .360. She also had 36 hits, 17 RBIs and seven doubles.
In three years at ONU, the nursing major has a .320 career batting average with 85 hits, 42 RBIs, 19 doubles and 32 runs scored.
Flory, a pharmacy major, batted .247 this season and had 19 hits, 10 RBIs, one home run and six runs scored.
In her career, she is batting .268 with 30 hits, 11 RBIs, two doubles, one home run and 12 runs scored.
Neth led the pitchers this season with a 4-10 record and 55 strikeouts in 90.2 innings. She also had 11 hits, two RBIs and two doubles in 28 at bats.
In two years, the early childhood education major is 6-14 overall in 41 appearances and has 74 strikeouts in 135.0 innings.
The Polar Bears finished the season 9-29 overall and 3-13 in the OAC under second-year head coach Summer Collins.
