Softball falls to Wilmington in completion of suspended game 4-2

BLUFFTON — The Ohio Northern softball team fell to Wilmington 4-2 on Sunday in the completion of a suspended game from April 22.
The Basics
- Records: Ohio Northern (9-25 Overall, 3-11 OAC), Wilmington (15-17 Overall, 6-6 OAC).
- Venue: Bluffton Field — Bluffton, Ohio.
Game Recap
- The game was resumed with ONU leading 1-0 with two out in the bottom of the first.
- WC scored three times in the top of the second and once more in the third to go up 4-1.
- In the sixth, junior Carlie Schroeder (Wapakoneta) doubled home senior Ashley Simko (Lebanon) to get ONU within 4-2.
- Northern got its first run on April 22 when Simko hit a sacrifice fly to score freshman Alexa Ray (Worthington/Bishop Watterson).
- Schroeder finished the day 2-for-4 to lead the Northern offense.
- WC out-hit ONU 8-4.

- The game was played at Bluffton University's field as ONU's Durbin-Hileman Stadium is under repair after suffering storm damage in March.
