Lenser and Rosser named OAC Softball Pitcher and Hitter of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern seniors Ashley Lenser (Brookville) and Callie Rosser (Republic/Monroeville) were named the Ohio Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher and Hitter of the Week for the week of Apr. 28-May 4.
The recognition for Lenser comes after picking up two wins and striking out 15 in three games. She pitched four innings with four strikeouts to lead ONU to a 5-3 win over Wooster on Wednesday. On Friday, Lenser picked up another win with three strikeouts in a 10-2 victory over Heidelberg, improving to 15-10 on the season, then pitched six innings in the nightcap, striking out eight.
Lenser now has 123 strikeouts this season, which ranks fourth-best in ONU history. She also has 15 wins, which is ranked 6th all-time.
She also is second in ONU history with 363 career strikeouts and third with 50 career victories in the circle.
The recognition for Rosser comes after having a 8-for-9 day in a doubleheader split with Heidelberg on Friday, including a home run, along with three RBIs and five runs.
Rosser now has 150 career hits, which ranks tied for 15th all-time in ONU history.
This is Lenser's eighth time receiving the honor in her career and Rosser's first.
The Polar Bears (19-21 overall) return to action on Thursday against Mount Union (24-12 overall) on Day 1 of the OAC Tournament at 1 p.m.
