ADA — The Ohio Northern softball team split a doubleheader with Capital on Friday afternoon on ONU's Little Sis Day. ONU won the first game 13-3, but lost the nightcap 10-7.
The Basics
- Records: Ohio Northern (13-17 Overall, 8-4 OAC), Capital (13-17 Overall, 6-8 OAC).
- Venue: Durbin-Hileman Stadium — Ada, Ohio.
Game 1 - W, 13-3 (5 innings)
- Northern scored 5 runs in the first inning, including a 2-RBI double from senior Callie Rosser (Republic/Monroeville) and RBI singles from seniors Ashley Lenser (Brookville) and Taylor Hilty (Kettering/Fairmont).
- In the third inning, Capital scored three runs.
- The Polar Bears scored four more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, with junior Allie Wilson (Wapakoneta) batting in two of those runs on a triple.
- In the bottom of the fifth inning, ONU scored one run before Wilson hit a walk-off 3-run homer to end the game after 5 innings.
- Lenser pitched a complete game with 5 strikeouts to improve to 10-8 on the season.
- Wilson went 3-for-4 with 5 RBIs to lead the Polar Bears offensively.

- In the first inning, Wilson hit a 2-RBI single to take a quick lead.
- Freshman Jaylee Fansler (Plainfield, Ind./Avon) hit an RBI double in the second inning.
- In the fourth inning, Wilson hit another home run, this time a solo shot, and freshman Alyssa Hochstetler (Akron/Springfield) hit an RBI single to make the score 5-0.
- Capital scored one run in the fifth inning.
- The Polar Bears answered with two runs in the sixth inning.
- The Comets scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning to tie the game up, then held ONU scoreless in the bottom of the inning to force extra innings.
- Capital scored three runs in the top of the eight to finish the comeback.
- CU out-hit ONU 12-11.

- Wilson had a 5-for-7 day with eight RBIs and two home runs.
