Junior Kirsten Lightel named OAC Pitcher of the Week for second consecutive week

ADA — Junior Kirsten Lightel (Tallmadge) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for the second consecutive week for the week of Mar. 19-25.

Lightel led Northern in the circle this week as she only allowed nine hits in two complete games, while striking out 7 batters.

The junior only allowed two runs scored in her two contests, including one earned run.

Lightel pitched two complete games and posted an ERA of 0.58 during the week.

The junior currently leads the conference in wins (8), ERA (0.38) and ranks third in the conference with 49 strikeouts.

Northern returns to action Tuesday afternoon as they travel to area-rival Bluffton to take on the Beavers in a double header at 3 p.m.
