Softball team to open 2012 campaign March 4-10 at National Training Center Spring Games in Clermont, Fla.

ADA — The Ohio Northern softball team will open its 2012 schedule March 4-10 at the National Training Center Spring Games at Clermont, Fla., under second-year head coach Kim Burke.

The Polar Bears will open the home portion of their schedule March 29 with a double header against Adrian (Mich.) at the ONU Softball Field.

Northern will also play non-conference double headers at Alma (Mich.) and at Trine (Ind.) in addition to the always difficult 18-game Ohio Athletic Conference schedule.

The OAC Tournamernt is slated for May 4-5.

Ohio Northern returns 15 letter winners from last year's squad that went 27-14, won the OAC Regular Season title and advanced to the NCAA III Tournament.
