Baker, Hann named All-Academic by U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association

ADA — Ohio Northern senior Patrick Baker (Massillon/Jackson) and junior Breydan Hann (Wooster) have been named 2021 All-Academic by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
In order to qualify as an All-Academic Athlete selection, runners must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top 25% of their respective regional championship meet. There were a total of 248 student-athletes from 91 different institutions that earned the honor.
Baker, a mechanical and electrical engineering and physics major, finished a team-best 42nd place out of 266 runners with a career-low time of 25:55 at the NCAA III Great Lakes Regional Championships this past season.
Hann, a manufacturing technology major, placed 54th, running a career-low time of 26:10.
Baker and Hann also earned Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference recognition for the 2021 season.
The Polar Bears closed the season with a seventh-place finish out of 37 teams at the regional meet, finishing with an overall record of 94-39 under 13th-year head coach Jason Maus.
