Maus named Director of Track and Field and Cross Country; Amidon promoted to head Track and Field coach at Ohio Northern

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's and women's track and field and cross country programs will operate under a new structure beginning in the summer of 2026.
Jason Maus has been promoted to director of men's and women's track and field and will continue as head men's and women's cross country coach.
Molly Amidon has been promoted to head men's and women's track and field coach and will continue as assistant men's and women's cross country coach.
"We are excited for Jason and Molly," ONU director of athletics Tom Simmons said. "Our Track and Field and Cross Country teams have a rich history of success in the classroom and in competition, thanks to the commitment of Jason and his staff. We look forward to growing that success."
Maus in his 18th year as head coach at Ohio Northern and is 1689-446 in men's cross country (.791) and 1489-543 in women's cross country (.865). He has guided ONU teams to four Ohio Athletic Conference titles in each gender during his tenure.
Maus was 2,653-732-7 in men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field for a winning percentage of .783, guiding the Polar Bears to 10 OAC Championships crowns.
He is ONU's all-time winningest coach in men's and women's track and field and cross country history.
Amidon is head men's and women's track and field coach after spending nine seasons as an assistant coach at Ohio Northern.
In her time at ONU, she has coached six athletes and four relay teams to NCAA Championships bids and had athletes break 25 school records.
Her athletes have also won 13 OAC titles, had 55 All-Great Lakes Region honors and posted 96 All-OAC accolades in the sprints and hurdles.
She was named the OAC and Great Lakes Men's Assistant Coach of the Year both Indoors and Outdoors in 2024 and Outdoors in 2023.
