Junior C.J. Boothby earns All-America honors on the final day of the NCAA III Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships

LA CROSSE, Wis. - Junior C.J. Boothby (Milford/Clermont Northeastern) captures All-American honors in the javelin throw to lead the Ohio Northern men's outdoor track & field team on the final day of the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday.

The Basics

• Ohio Northern has scored 2 points for the Championships.
• Record: Ohio Northern (39-14 Overall).
• Venue: Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex - La Crosse, Wis.
• The top eight finishers in each event earn All-America honors.
• Finishers 9-16 earn Second Team All-America honors by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Association.

ONU Individuals

• Boothby placed seventh and finished by throwing a school record 64.57 meters.
• This was his first career All-American honors in the javelin throw.
• This marks his third NCAA III Championships appearance and his first outdoors.

Notables

• Boothby has qualified for the NCAA Championships in three different events.
• Boothby was seeded 13th in the 22-man field in the event with a throw of 62.43 meters.
• He owns six school records - outdoors in the 100 at :10.42, the javelin at 62.43m and the 4x100 relay in :40.52; and indoors in the 60 (:06.75), the long jump (7.35m) and the heptathlon (4,161 points).
• The top 22 individuals and the top 16 relay teams in each event qualify for the NCAA Championships.
• Head Coach Jason Maus is in his 17th year at Ohio Northern and is 618-175-3 in men's indoor track and field for a winning percentage of .775. He is ONU's all-time winningest coach in track and field history.
