Men's Outdoor Track and Field takes 7th at All-Ohio Championships, competes at DI Tennessee Invitational

The Ohio Northern men's outdoor track & field team competed as split-squads this weekend, taking 7th at the All-Ohio Championships and competing impressively at the Division I stage of the Tennessee Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

The Basics

• Ohio Northern finished 7th of 14 teams with 60 points at the All-Ohio Championships
• The Tennessee Invitational was not scored.
• Record: Ohio Northern (30-13 Overall).
• At the All-Ohio, Baldwin Wallace finished 1st with 151.5 points, Otterbein was 2nd with 99 points, and Ohio Wesleyan took 3rd with 79 points.
• Venues: Selby Stadium - Delaware, Ohio; LaPorte Stadium - Knoxville, Tennessee.

ONU Individuals - All-Ohio

• Freshman Luke Stouffer (Payne/Wayne Trace) won the shot put, throwing a career-best 15.68 meters.
• Junior Oliver Hendricks (Vandalia/Butler) placed 2nd in the 1500m run, timing 3:58.27.
• Freshman Brandon Hogg (Frederickstown) took 2nd in the pole vault, clearing 4.55 meters.
• Freshman James Durham (Hiram/Crestwood) finished 3rd in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.04 seconds.
• ONU's 4x400 meter relay team of senior Zach O'Neill (Holland/Maumee Valley Country Day), sophomore Isen Schafer (Harrod/Allen East), freshman Elliott Gilbert (Powell/Olentangy Liberty), and junior Grant Conn (Medina/Buckeye Senior) took 4th place in 3:21.86.
• Junior Carter Byers (Lewis Center/Olentangy Orange) took 4th in the 400m hurdles in 55.57 seconds.
• Sophomore Dudley Bravard (Beavercreek) placed 4th in the 5000m run in 15:05.82.

ONU Individuals - Tennessee

• Junior C.J. Boothby (Milford/Clermont Northeastern) was 3rd in the javelin, heaving 58.83 meters.
• Sophomore Chris Bond (Franklin) took 3rd in the 3000m steeplechase in 9:47.12.
• Senior Connor Robbins (Marion/River Valley) placed 7th in the javelin, throwing 50.27 meters.
• Junior Jacob Wakefield (Wooster/Northwestern) finished 7th in the high jump, clearing 2.02 meters.
• Sophomore Grayson Dowell (Waynesville) was 7th in the pole vault, clearing 4.46 meters.
• Senior Jacob Clouse (Alvada/New Riegel) took 10th in the 5000m run in 15:01.10.
• Freshman Elijah Thompson (South Vienna/Northeastern) was 11th in the pole vault, jumping 4.31 meters.
• Freshman Cale Wilson (Clarksville/Clinton-Massie) was 18th in the triple jump with a career-best 13.61 meters.

Notables

• The All-Ohio meet consisted of 20 events - 8 field events, 10 running events, and 2 relays.
• The Tennessee Invite consisted of 19 events - 8 field events, 9 running events, and 2 relays. 
• Boothby's heave of 58.83 meters is a personal best and 2nd all-time in ONU history.
• Stouffer's heave of 15.68 meters in the shot put is now the third best in ONU history.
• Durham is now tied for 5th all-time in ONU history in the 110-meter hurdles at 15.04 seconds.
• Wilson is now sixth all-time at ONU in the triple jump at 13.61.
• Wakefield's jump of 2.02 meters is good for 7th all-time in ONU history.
• Byers' time of 55.57 seconds is now the 8th-best in ONU history.
• Head Coach Jason Maus is in his 17th year at Ohio Northern and is 609-174-3 in men's indoor track and field for a winning percentage of .775. He is ONU's all-time winningest coach in track and field history.
