Men's Outdoor Track and Field finishes second at Manchester (Ind.) Invitational

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. — The Ohio Northern men's track and field team won four events and posted a second place finish at the Manchester (Ind.) Invitational on a rainy Saturday.
The Basics
- Ohio Northern finished second of five teams with 205 points.
- Record: Ohio Northern (23-7 Overall).
- Trine (Ind.) won the meet with 210 points, edging ONu by just five points. Manchester (Ind.) was third with 98.5 points, Franklin (Ind.) was fourth with 77.5 and Defiance was fifth with 56 points.

Top ONU Performers
- Junior Oliver Hendricks (Vandalia/Butler) won the 800-meter run in 1:57.21.
- Sophomore Sam Scavuzzo (Norwalk/Saint Paul) won the long jump with a career-best leap of 6.69 meters.
- Freshman James Durham (Hiram/Crestwood) won the 110-meter hurdles in :15.58.
- Freshman Luke Stouffer (Payne/Wayne Trace) won the shot put with a career-best 14.82 meters.
- Senior Nathan Carnevale (Beavercreek/Carroll) was second in the triple jump at 12.01 meters.
- Senior Evan Gomez (Farmington, N.M.) was second in the discus at 42.80 meters.
- Sophomore Chris Bond (Franklin) was second in the 5,000 in 15:43.63.
- Freshman Cale Wilson (Clarksville/Clinton-Massie) was second in the 200 in :22.47.
- Freshman Brady Giesige (Napoleon/Liberty Center) was second in the hammer throw with a heave of 47.44 meters and was second in the shot at 14.69 meters.
Notables
- The meet consisted of 18 events - 7 field events, nine running events and two relays.
- Durham is now 8th all-time in ONU history in the 110-meter hurdles at :15.39, which he set in the prelims.
- Stouffer is now No. 8 all-time at ONU in the shot with his 14.82-meter effort.
- Head Coach Jason Maus is in his 17th year at Ohio Northern and is 602-168-3 in men's indoor track and field for a winning percentage of .781. He is ONU's all-time winningest coach in track and field history.
