Men's Indoor Track and Field tied for fourth after Day 1 of OAC Indoor Championships

TIFFIN — Ohio Northern's men's indoor track & field team had two All-Conference performances on Friday on the first day of the OAC Championships in at Heidelberg.
The Basics
- The championships will take place over the course of Friday and Saturday.
- After day one, the Polar Bears are tied with Capital for 4th place with 28 points.
- Mount Union is in1st with 83 points, Baldwin Wallace is 2nd with 48.5 points, and Otterbein is 3rd with 35.5 points.
- Record: Ohio Northern (36-4 Overall).

Top ONU Performers
- Junior C.J. Boothby (Milford/Clermont Northeastern) was third in the long jump, leaping 7.02 meters, to earn All-Conference accolades.
- ONU's 4000m distance medley relay team of junior Vova Herdman (Seville/Cloverleaf), freshman Elliott Gilbert (Powell/Olentangy Liberty), sophomore Asu Pelima (Euclid/Villa Angela-Saint Joseph), and junior Oliver Hendricks (Vandalia/Butler) combined to take 2nd place in 10:18.69 and claiming All-OAC honors.
- Freshman Elijah Thompson (South Vienna/Northeastern) placed 5th in the pole vault, clearing 4.40 meters.
- Freshman Cale Wilson (Clarksville/Clinton-Massie) finished 5th in the 400m dash in 50.25 seconds.
- Freshman Brandon Hogg (Frederickstown) tied for 6th in the pole vault, jumping 4.30 meters.
- Senior Jacob Clouse (Alvada/New Riegel) placed 7th in the 5000 in 15:22.66.

- The two-day championships consist of 19 events with 10 running events, six field events, and three relays.
- Friday consisted of 7 men's events with 3 field events, 3 running events and 1 relay.
- The top three finishers in each event earn All-Conference accolades.
- Head Coach Jason Maus is in his 17th year at Ohio Northern and is 737-170 in men's indoor track and field for a winning percentage of .809. He is ONU's all-time winningest coach in track and field history.
