Two throwers win as Men's Indoor Track and Field competes at Trine (Ind.) Invitational

TRINE (Ind.) — Senior Evan Gomez (Farmington, New Mexico) and Freshman Luke Stouffer (Payne/Wayne Trace) showed off their Polar Bear strength, each winning their events as Men's Indoor Track & Field competed at the Trine (Ind.) Invitational.
The Basics

- Record: Ohio Northern (22-4 Overall).
- The event included an NCAA Division I team in Purdue Fort Wayne (Ind.) as well as NAIA Siena Heights (Mich.) alongside various NCAA Division III teams.

- Gomez won the weight throw with a heave of 16.95 meters.
- Stouffer won the shot put at 15.14 meters.
- Freshman Brandon Hogg (Frederickstown) and freshman Elijah Thompson (South Vienna/Northeastern) tied for 2nd in the pole vault, both jumping 4.53 meters.
- Junior Jacob Wakefield (Wooster/Northwestern) took 4th in the high jump at 1.89 meters.
- Senior Nathan Carnevale (Beavercreek/Carroll) jumped 12.28 meters to take 6th in the triple jump.
- Junior Carter Byers (Lewis Center/Olentangy Orange) finished 7th in the 60m hurdles in 8.77 seconds.

- Gomez's effort in the weight throw moves him up to seventh all-time in ONU history in the event.
