ADA — Ohio Northern freshman Cale Wilson (Clarksville/Clinton-Massie) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 26-Feb. 1.
This is Wilson's first career Athlete of the Week accolade.
The recognition comes after breaking the school record in the triple jump in his first career meet. Wilson won the event with a jump of 14.25 meters, accomplishing the mark on his first triple jump attempt as a collegiate athlete.
The previous record of 14.07 meters was set in 2000 by All-American Phil Thomas.
Ohio Northern placed first of nine teams with 247 points.
The Polar Bears (22-4 Overall) return to action on Friday at Trine (Ind.) Invitational and the Indy Fairgrounds Meet.
