Hendricks, Giesige win events to lead Men's Indoor Track and Field at Hillsdale (Mich.) Wide Track Classic

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Junior Oliver Hendricks (Vandalia/Butler) and freshman Brady Giesige (Napoleon/Liberty Center) each won events to lead the Ohio Northern men's indoor track and field team at the Hillsdale (Mich.) Wide Track Classic on Friday.
The Basics
- Ohio Northern was third of nine varsity teams with 110.5 points.
- The meet consisted of eight schools from NCAA Divisions II and III and NAIA.
- Record: Ohio Northern (14-4 Overall).
- Findlay won the team title with 208.5 points, Hillsdale (Mich.) was second with 115 points, Albion (Mich.) and Siena Heights (Mich.) tied for fourth with 55 points each, Trine (Ind.) was sixth with 38 points, Olivet (mich.) was seventh with 29 points, Adrian (Mich.) was eighth with 14 points and Cleary (Mich.) was ninth with 6 points.

Top ONU Performers
- Hendricks won the 3,000-meter run in 8:51.18.
- Giesige won the Open Shot Put event with a career-best toss of 15.27 meters.
- Senior Ethan Kemp (Mount Gilead) was third in the 5,000 in 15:56.71.
- Senior Jacob Clouse (Alvada/New Riegel) was third in the 3k in 8:54.41.
- Junior C.J. Boothby (Milford/Clermont Northeastern) was third in the 60 at :06.91.
- Freshman Brandon Hogg (Frederickstown) was third in the Open Pole Vault at 4.23 meters.
Notables
- The meet consisted of 18 events with nine field events, eight running events and one relay.
- Giesige's 15.27-meter toss in the shot put is the sixth-best in ONU history in the event.
- Head Coach Jason Maus is in his 17th year at Ohio Northern and is 715-169 in men's indoor track and field for a winning percentage of .809. He is ONU's all-time winningest coach in track and field history.
