Men's Track and Field split-squad opens Indoor season with third place finish at Findlay Oiler Opener

FINDLAY — The Ohio Northern men's indoor track and field team sent a partial squad to the Findlay Oiler Opener for its season opener on Friday.
The Basics
- Ohio Northern finished third of eight teams with 50 points.
- Record: Ohio Northern (5-2 Overall).
- Findlay won the team title with 221 points, Ohio Wesleyan was second with 69 points and Heidelberg was fourth with 39 points.

Top ONU Performers
- Junior Chaz Miller (New Lebanon/Dixie) led the Polar Bears with a second place finish in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.57 seconds.
- Senior Nathan Carnevale (Beavercreek/Carroll) was second in the triple jump at 12.20 meters.
- Sophomore C.J. Boothby (Milford/Clermont Northeastern) was second in the 60 dash in :06.91.
- Junior Carter Byers (Lewis Center/Olentangy Orange) was third in the 60 hurdles in :08.60.
- Freshman Luke Stouffer (Payne/Wayne Trace) was fourth in the shot put at 15.30 meters.
- Senior Connor Robbins (Marion/River Valley) was fifth in the shot at 15.17 meters.
- Sophomore Gavin Miller (Fostoria) was sixth in the high jump at 1.80 meters.
- Freshman Owen Fockler (Dennison/Indian Valley) was seventh in the 200 in :23.02.

- Chaz Miller's :08.57 in the 60 hurdles ranks him fourth all-time in ONU history.
- Byers is now fifth all-time in the event at :08.60.
- Stouffer moves into fifth place all-time at ONU in the shot at 15.30 meters.
- Robbins moves up to fifth in the event at 15.17 meters.
- Head Coach Jason Maus is in his 17th year at Ohio Northern and is 706-167 in men's indoor track and field for a winning percentage of .809. He is ONU's all-time winningest coach in track and field history.
