Massie, Masterson, O'Neill and Schlatter named All-Academic Athletes; Ohio Northern men's team named USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

ADA — Ohio Northern seniors Ryan Massie (Beavercreek), Trey Masterson (Tiffin/Hopewell-Loudon) and Ross Schlatter (Curtice/Genoa) and junior Zach O'Neill (Holland/Maumee Valley Country Day) were named All-Academic Athletes for 2025 by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The Ohio Northern men's track and field team was also named an All-Academic Team for 2025 by the USTFCCCA.
To be eligible for All-Academic Athlete honors, each student-athlete must have a GPA of at least 3.30 and must have posted an individual top 50 mark in the nation, competed on a top-35 relay team nationally or competed at the NCAA III Championships.
The Polar Bears finished the 2024 season with a 3.31 GPA. To be eligible for All-Academic Team status, the squad must have a team GPA of 3.10 or better.
Massie, a computer engineering major, is a three-time Academic All-District and three-time Academic All-OAC honoree.
He broke the school record in the 3,000-meter run this season with a time of 8:38.03. He is also a two-time All-OAC honoree.
Masterson, a civil engineering major, is now a two-time USTFCCCA All-Academic selection and is also a three-time Academic All-District and Academic All-Conference honoree.
He was named USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region twice and was named All-OAC once in the 5,000-meter run.
O'Neill, a political science major, is a one-time Academic All-District selection and two-time Academic All-OAC honoree.
He is a two-time USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region selection and two-time All-OAC honoree in the 4x400-meter relay.
Schlatter, a mechanical engineering major, is now a two-time USTFCCCA All-Academic selection.
He is a three time NCAA III Championships qualifier as part of ONU's 4x400-meter relay team. He is also a four-time USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region selection, two-time OAC Champion and six-time All-OAC honoree.
