Boothby, Gomez earn All-Conference honors, lead Men's Track and Field on first day of OAC Outdoor Championships

WILMINGTON — Sophomore C.J. Boothby (Milford/Clermont Northeastern), junior Evan Gomez (Farmington, N.M.) and the 4x800 relay team earned All-Conference honors to lead the Ohio Northern men's track and field on the first day of the 2025 Ohio Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships on a wet and rainy Thursday.

- Ohio Northern is sixth of 10 teams with 30 points after seven of the 21 events.
- Baldwin Wallace leads the team standings with 60 points, John Carroll is second with 56 points and Wilmington is third with 43 points.

- The top three individual finishers in each event and the top three relays earn All-Conference honors.
Top ONU Performers
- Boothby earned All-Conference honors in the javelin, finishing second with a toss of 54.85 meters.
- Gomez earned All-OAC recognition in the discus, finishing third at 43.47 meters.
- Fifth-year senior Trey Myers (Dayton/Chaminade-Julienne), freshman Asu Pelima (Euclid/Villa Angela-Saint Joseph), senior Bo Little (Washington Court House/Miami Trace) and sophomore Oliver Hendricks (Vandalia/Butler) earned All-Conference honors in the 4x800 relay by finishing third in 7:43.28.
- Sophomore Grant Butler (Marion/River Valley) was fourth in the long jump at 6.59 meters.
- Freshman Dylan Dowell (Mount Vernon) was fifth in the long jump at 6.51 meters.
- Freshman Gavin Miller (Johnson City, Tenn./Science Hill) was eighth in the high jump, clearing 1.91 meters.

- Ohio Northern has won seven OAC Outdoor Championships titles in program history.
- Boothby moves up one spot to second on ONU's all-time career list in the javelin at 179' 11".
- The pole vault was suspended due to heavy rains. It will be completed on Friday.
- Senior All-American Jordan Dean Cleveland/Villa Angela-Saint Joseph) is tied for 19th nationally in the 400 in :47.41.
- Boothby is tied for 29th nationally in the 100 with a school-record :10.52.
