ADA — Junior Jordan Dean (Euclid/Villa Angela Saint Joseph) was named All-Great Lakes Region in three events to lead a list of seven Polar Bears earning USTFCCCA All-Region honors in men's outdoor track and field for 2024.
The top five individuals in each event and each of the members of a top-three ranked relay team from each region earned All-Region honors.
Dean led the way for ONU as an All-Region honoree in the 4x100 and 4x400 relays and the 400-meter dash.
Fifth-year senior Hunter Kesler (Oakwood/Paulding), senior Trey Myers (Dayton/Chaminade-Julienne) and sophomore Tyrese Barker (Columbus/Bishop Hartley) each earned All-Region accolades in two events.
Dean ranks first in the Great Lakes Region and third nationally in the 400 with a school-record time of 46:47.
Dean, Kesler, Barker and freshman C.J. Boothby (Milford/Clermont Northeastern) own the second-best time in the region, and 11th nationally, in the 4x100 relay after running a school-record :40.52.
Dean, Kesler, Myers and junior Ross Schlatter (Curtice/Genoa) rank third in the region and 14th nationally in the 4x400 relay with a school-record time of 3:12.41.
Myers also earned All-Region status in the 800 meters, ranking fifth regionally in an Ohio Athletic Conference record 1:51.01.
Senior Keegan Digby (Bowling Green/Otsego) owns the top mark in the region and the fifth-best nationally in the shot put at 17.43, which is just .03 off his own school record of 17.46 meters set last year. He is a three-time All-American in the event and earned All-American honors in the indoor shot put earlier this year.
The 2024 outdoor season concludes May 23-25 at the NCAA Division III Championships in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The top 22 individuals in each event and top 16 school relay teams will qualify for the national meet.
