ADA — Ohio Northern sophomore Keegan Digby (Bowling Green/Otsego) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week for the week of April 18-24.
The honor comes after Digby broke a 35-year-old school record in the shot put on Saturday as the Polar Bears hosted the Mike Becraft Invitational.
Digby's mark of 16.34 meters broke the previous school-record mark of 15.74 meters set by Jim Shaw in 1987, and it currently ranks fifth in the country this season in NCAA Division III.
Digby also scored in Friday's hammer throw, finishing fifth with a distance of 47.30 meters.
The Polar Bears won the 11-team meet, posting first-place finishes in a total of eight events and scoring 203 points, which was 51 points ahead of second-place Tiffin.
This marks Digby's second OAC Field Athlete of the Week honor, as he also earned the accolade as a freshman during the 2021 indoor season.
Northern returns to action on Friday and Saturday at the Ashland Alumni Open.
