10 named Academic All-OAC in Men's Track & Field in 2016

ADA — Ten Ohio Northern student/athletes were named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference in men's track & field.
Senior Michael Potter, juniors Evan Murtha, Adam Smith, Cully Gordon, A.J. Cody, Andrew Kurtz, Zane Augustine and sophomores Michael Murray, Alexander Sibila, and Luke Bogdanovich all received the honor.
The award winners must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and have a cumulative grade-point-average of at least 3.50.
Potter, a mechanical engineering major, earns his first Academic All-OAC honor.
The Sandy, Utah native competed in the 10,000-meter run and 1,500-meter run during the outdoor season.
Murtha garners his first Academic All-OAC accolade.
The pharmacy major competed in the 1,500-meter run for the ONU last season and was also a member of the Cross Country team that finished first in the OAC.
Smith, a mechanical engineering major, earns his first Academic All-OAC accolade.
The Rocky River native competed in the pole vault last season for ONU, clearing a season best height of 12 feet 6.25 inches at the Joe Banks Invitational.
Gordon, a mechanical engineering major, earns his first Academic All-OAC honor.
The junior won the 10,000-meter run at the OAC Outdoor Championships, earning 10 championship points for the Polar Bears.
Cody, a mechanical engineering major, earns his second Academic All-OAC honor.
The Findlay native competed in the shot put and discus for the Polar Bears last season.
Kurtz competed as a member of the distance crew for Ohio Northern, earning his first Academic All-OAC accolade.
The physics major ran the 1,500-meter, 10,000-meter, and the 1-mile.
Augustine, a pharmacy major, garners his first Academic All-OAC accolade.
The junior claimed an eighth place finish in the hammer throw at the OAC Outdoor Championships, earning one OAC Championship point.
Murray, a member of the Cross Country team, earns his first Academic All-OAC accolade.
The Strongsville native competed in the 1,500-meter run for ONU, running a season best time of 4:38.26 at the Polar Bear Invitational.
Sibila, a electrical engineering major, earns his first Academic All-OAC honor.
The Zionsville, Ind. native competed in the high jump for ONU, claiming a third place finish and garnering All-OAC honors at the OAC Outdoor Championships. He also finished eighth in the event at the OAC Indoor Championships.
Bogdanovich earns his first Academic All-OAC accolade.
The pharmacy major competed in the 400-hurdles last season for Northern, running a season best time of 1:01.91 at the Centre Track and Field Invitational.
Under seventh year head coach Jason Maus, the Polar Bears finished second at both the OAC Indoor and Outdoor Championships.
