Fleming competes in the 100-meter dash at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships

DELAWARE — Senior Ryan Fleming (Maitland, Fla./Lyman) competed in the 100-meter dash preliminary race at the 2011 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Friday evening at Ohio Wesleyan.
Fleming tied for 18th, crossing the finish line in 11.04. He initially qualified for the championships with a provisional time of 10.58 in early April.
His work at NCAA championships is not finished, as Fleming teams up with the rest of the members of the 4x100 relay squad for the event finals Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
He along with senior Evan Heyman (Norwalk/Monroeville), junior Jacob Schwab (Williard/Monroeville) and freshman Francisque Pierre-Jerome (Lauderhill, Fla./South Plantation) finished fifth overall in the preliminaries in 41.24, Friday afternoon.
