Schwab and Bailey lead Men's Track & Field to fifth place finish at All-Ohio Outdoor Championships
DELAWARE — The Ohio Northern men's track & field team competed at the All-Ohio Outdoor Championships at Ohio Wesleyan Saturday afternoon, finishing fifth of 19 teams with 82.5 points.
Baldwin-Wallace won the event with 124 points, followed by Mount Union with 112, Heidelberg with 88 and Ohio Wesleyan with 85 points.
Juniors Jacob Schwab (Willard/Monroeville) and Cory Bailey (Loveland) led the way for Northern, each collecting individual victories.
Schwab finished the 400-meter run in a season-best time of 48.79, while Bailey captured the 800-meter run in 1:56.63.
Ryan Fleming (Maitland, Fla./Lyman) notched a pair of top three finishes. The senior sprinter finished second in the 200-meter dash in 22.39 and third in the 100-meter dash in 11.20.
Senior Garret Brown (Atwater/Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) took third in the 400-meter hurdles in 55.20.
The Polar Bears, now 22-6 overall, return to action next Saturday when they compete in the Kenyon Invitational, starting at 11 a.m.
