Men's Tennis falls to Spring Arbor (Mich.) and Wabash (Ind.) in spring home slate opener

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team opened the home portion of its spring schedule with a 5-2 loss to Spring Arbor (Mich.) and a 4-3 loss to Wabash (Ind.) on Saturday.
The Basics
- Records: Ohio Northern (6-6 Overall), Spring Arbor (7-6 Overall), Wabash (9-8 Overall).
- Venue: West Campus Courts - Ada, Ohio.
Spring Arbor Match - L, 2-5
- Freshman Dylan Catanese (Lexington) and Nick Miller (Toledo/St. Francis) each won singles matches to lead ONU.
- Catanese won 6-4, 6-3 at No. 4 singles and Miller won 7-6(5), 6-4 at No. 6 singles.
- The Cougars won the doubles point by sweeping all three courts, then won singles courts 1, 2, 3, and 5 to take the match.
Wabash Match - L, 3-4
- Miller won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 6 singles to complete a 2-0 day in singles competition.
- Freshmen Aiden Yeager (Springfield/Northwestern) won 7-5, 6-1 at No. 1 singles.
- Sophomore Ethan Remy (Lexington) rallied for a 1-6, 6-1, 10-8 victory at No. 4 singles
- Junior Kessler Hackenberger (Tipp City/Tippecanoe) and freshman Noah Ehret (Beavercreek) won 6-3 at No. 3 doubles.
- The Little Giants won the doubles point by taking courts 1 and 2, then won singles courts 2, 3, and 5 to take the match.

- Catanese leads the Polar Bears thus far this season with a 15-7 singles mark and a 26-14 overall record.
- Yeager is second with 12 singles wins.
- Junior Tyler Wood (Toledo/St. John's) and Catanese have a team-best 11 doubles wins.
