Wood, Catanese lead Men's Tennis at ITA Regionals

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Junior Tyler Wood (Toledo/St. John's) and freshmen Dylan Catanese (Lexington) led the Ohio Northern men's tennis team at the ITA Regionals on Friday and Saturday.
The Basics

Singles Highlights
- Catanese finished with a 1-1 singles record with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Webster (Mo.)
- Wood was 1-2 with a win over Otterbein's Sanjan Shanker.
- Freshman Aiden Yeager (Springfield/Northwestern) went 0-2 in singles.
- In all, ONU posted a 2-5 singles record on the weekend.
Doubles Highlights
- Wood and Catanese were 1-1 in doubles play, defeating a team from Transylvania (Ky.) 8-1.
- The Polar Bears were 1-1 in doubles action.
Notables
- Catanese leads the Polar Bears thus far this season with a 7-2 singles mark and an 11-5 overall record.
- sophomore Noah Boyce (Oakwood) is 4-2 in doubles with Wood and Catanese at 4-3.
- The Polar Bears will compete in four tournaments and will host Adrian (Mich.) in a dual match during their fall schedule, which will wrap up Oct. 19.
- Fourth-year head coach Sean Swisher is 44-23 at the helm of the ONU men's tennis team, a winning percentage of .657.
