Tyler Wood named OAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern freshman Tyler Wood (Toledo/St. John's Jesuit) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of Mar. 11-17.

The recognition comes after winning a single match 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 at No. 4 against Washington College (Md.) on Tuesday. He then went 2-0 on Wednesday against St. Francis (Ind.) winning 8-3 at No. 1 doubles and 6-4, 7-6 at No. 3 singles. Then, he went 3-1 on Thursday winning 8-2 at No. 2 doubles and 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4 singles against Wisconsin-La Crosse and 8-3 at No. 2 doubles against Anderson (Ind.).

Wood also leads the team with a 13-5 singles record.

This is Wood's first time receiving the honor.

The Polar Bears (11-5 overall) return to action on Saturday afternoon against Wittenburg (1-10 overall) at 2 p.m.
