Carter Notches 100th Win as Men’s Tennis Defeats Augustana (Ill.)

ORLANDO, Fla. —
Senior Jeff Carter became the 16th member of the 100-Win Club to lead the Ohio Northern men's tennis team to a 7-2 victory over Augustana (Ill.) Wednesday evening at the Fort Gatlin Recreation Complex.
With the win, Ohio Northern stands at 3-1 on the season while the Vikings fall to 10-2.
Carter's 100th victory clinched the match for the Polar Bears.
Northern began play by taking two of the three doubles courts.
Sophomore Joey Frank and junior Nick Kowalczyk nabbed a 9-7 win at No. 1 doubles.
Carter teamed with Andrew Korba to win 8-5 at No. 3 doubles over Jack Cullen and Colin Arnold.
Sophomore Do Thai picked up a solid 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 3 singles.
Kowalczyk defeated Andy Wall by a 6-1, 6-3 score at No. 4 singles.
Then, Carter clinched the match at No. 5 singles with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Cullen.
Also picking up wins for the Polar Bears were Frank and junior Michael Kathary. Frank picked up a tough 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles while Kathary won at No. 2 singles by a 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 margin.
Ohio Northern will be in action again on Thursday when they wrap up their spring break trip when they face off against Webber International (Fla.) at 2:30 p.m.
