Men's Soccer to open 2025 season Aug. 29 at Mary Washington (Va.)

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's soccer team will open its 2025 season on Aug. 29 and 31 with matches at Mary Washington (Va.) and Randolph-Macon (Va.) under seventh-year head coach Chris Matejka.

Northern will begin its season with six consecutive road matches.

After its Virginia trip, ONU will play at Hope (Mich.) and Calvin (Mich.) Sept. 5-6, at Trine (Ind.) on Sept. 13 and at Ohio Wesleyan on Sept. 17.

ONU will host Rose-Hulman (Ind.) in its home opener on Sept. 20.

Hope matches with Kenyon and Adrian (Mich.) on Sept. 27 and 30 will rap up the non-conference portion of the schedule.

The Polar Bears will open Ohio Athletic Conference play at home against Marietta on Oct. 4 to wrap up its four-match homestand.

Northern will also host OAC matches at Heidelberg, Capital and Wilmington.

Other conference road matches include those against Baldwin Wallace, Muskingum, Otterbein and  Mount Union.

The OAC Tournament is scheduled for Nov. 4-8.

The Polar Bears are coming off their third consecutive NCAA III Tournament Sweet 16 run. ONU posted a 14-5-3 overall record, were second in the OAC with a 7-1-1 league and won received at at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament in 2024.
