HUNTINGTON, Ind. — Junior Zach Yoder (Goshen, Ind./Northridge) scored in the 71st minute to lead the Ohio Northern men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory at NAIA foe Huntington (Ind.) on Monday afternoon at King Stadium.
The Polar Bears improve to 4-2-1 with their third consecutive win.
The Foresters, who received votes in the latest NAIA poll, fall to 5-2-1 after seeing their 4-match win streak snapped.
Yoder scored his sixth career goal and his first of the season with 19:52 left in the match to snap a scoreless tie.
Sophomore John Lombardo (Solon) picked up his fourth shutout of the season and the eighth of his career and has run his scoreless streak to 270:13 over the past four matches.
Ohio Northern out-shot Huntington 12-6.
The Polar Bears will return home on Wednesday night for a 7 pm match against Hanover (Ind.) at Kerscher Stadium.
