Senior Cole Zaferakis named OAC Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern senior goalkeeper Cole Zaferakis (Liverpool, N.Y.) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 27 to March 5.

This is Zaferakis' fourth career OAC Player of the Week accolade.

The latest recognition comes after he played all 60 minutes and tallied 10 saves on 17 shots in a 12-7 win at Wittenberg to improve to 4-0 on the season.

Through four games this season, he has 27 saves and an OAC-best 5.86 GAA.

Named to the InsideLacrosse.com All-Freshman Team in 2020, Zaferakis owns the program's single-game record for saves with 19.

He currently ranks second all-time at ONU in saves (206) and goalkeeper wins (28).

The Polar Bears (4-0 overall) return to action on Sunday at Bridgewater (Va.) at 2 p.m.
