Junior Alex Pizarro named OAC Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week

ADA — Ohio Norhern junior Alex Pizarro (Boonsboro, Md.) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Mar. 12.

Pizarro earned the honor for the first time this season and the second time in his career.

The junior goalkeeper faced 21 shots during Northern's 14-3 victory at Immaculata (Pa.) and 17-5 victory at Hanover (Ind.) and only gave up five goals combined in the two games.

Pizarro added six saves and had an impressive .667 save percentage and 3.56 goals against average.

The Polar Bears return to action on Saturday afternoon with a trip to New York to take on Alfred (N.Y.) at 1 p.m.
