Men's Golf competes at the Lourdes Men's Spring Invitational

OTTAWA LAKE, Mich. - The Ohio Northern men's golf team competed at the Lourdes Men's Spring Invitational on Thursday, finishing tied for 10th place of 14 teams.

The Basics

• Ohio Northern finished tied for 10th of 14 teams with a 321.
• ONU Season Record: 88-15-1.
• Indiana Tech (Ind.) took the team title, firing an 11-over-par 299. Tiffin's B-team was second with a 304, and Cleary (Mich.) placed 3rd with a 305.
• Venue: Legacy G.C. - Ottawa Lake, Mich.

ONU Individuals

• Playing with the B-team, freshman Rory Conway (Summit, N.J.) finished tied for 21st of 102 golfers, shooting a 5-over-par 77 on the 6,895-yard, par-72 course.
• Playing with the B-team, sophomore Gordon Kopmeyer (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./St. Mary's) tied for 29th with a 78.
• Sophomore Mason Smith (Zionsville, Ind./Covenant Christian) and freshman Nick Miller (Toledo/Saint Francis) each tied for 33rd place, firing 79's
• Freshman Alex Diesel (Cincinnati/Colerain) tied for 48th with an 81.
• Freshman Jaxon Woods (DeGraff/Riverside) tied for 58th, shooting an 82.
• Freshman Tyler Colson (Centerville) tied for 69th place, firing an 83.

Notables

• ONU tied for 11th alongside Olivet (Mich.), who also had a team total of 321.
• Junior Aashir Patel (Schaumburg, Ill./Conant) maintains the team's best 18-hole average at 72.9.
• ONU head coach Chad Bucci is 514-419-17 in his 13th season at the helm of the men's program, a winning percentage of .550.
