Freshman Nick Miller wins Medalist honors as Men's Golf wins Polar Beaver Spring Easter Classic

BEAVERDAM — Freshman Nick Miller (Toledo/Saint Francis) took a break from his tennis season to earn Medalist honors and lead the Ohio Northern men's golf team to a first-place finish at the Polar Beaver Spring Easter Classic Friday and Saturday.
The Basics
- Both Ohio Northern's A and B-teams finished with a 14-over-par 590 for 36 holes to win the 7-team tournament.
- ONU Season Record: 76-15.
- Anderson (Ind.) was second with a 26-over-par 602; Heidelberg was third with a 30-over-par 606 and Tiffin's B team was fourth with a 608.

- Playing with the B-team, Miller won Medalist honors by shooting a 3-under-par 69-72--141 on the par-72, 6707-yard course.
- Senior Bennett Christy (Plymouth, Ind.) placed 2nd of 67 golfers, firing a 2-under-par 70-72--142.
- Freshman Zach Butcher (Medina/Highland) tied for 5th place with a 3-over-par 76-71--147.
- Playing with the B-team, sophomore Dylan Potts (Dublin/Jerome) finished tied for 7th, shooting a 5-over-par 74-75--149.
- Playing with the B-Team, senior Evan Dennison (Ashland/Mapleton) also tied for 7th with a 5-over par 71-78--149.
- Sophomore Ian Briars (Maumee/Anthony Wayne) tied for 12th place, shooting a 6-over-par 75-75--150.
- Playing with the B-Team, senior Joey DeSimone (Munroe Falls/Stow-Munroe Falls) was 14th with a 7-over-par 75-76--151.
- Junior Aashir Patel (Schaumburg, Ill./Conant) tied for 20th place, shooting an 11-over-par 80-75--155.

- Miller's round of 69 on day 1 is his new career-low.
