Hess, Diesel have aces as Men's Golf wins 9-team Lourdes Fall Finale

SYLVANIA – Toledo Native Nick Miller won Medalist honors while freshmen Alex Diesel (Cincinnati/Colerain) and Noah Hess (Plain City/Alder) carded holes-in-one as the Ohio Northern men's golf team won the 8-team Lourdes Fall Finale on Monday.
The Basics
- Ohio Northern finished 1st of 8 teams at 12-over par 300.
- Cleary (Mich.) took second place as a team with a 17-over-par 305, while Madonna (Mich.) and Siena Heights (Mich.) tied for third at 18-over-par 306.
- ONU Season Record: 47-7.
- Venue: Sylvania C.C. in Toledo, Ohio.
ONU Individuals
- Freshman Nick Miller (Toledo/Saint Francis) shot a career-best 2-under-par 70 to take Medalist honors at his home course.
- Freshman Alex Diesel (Cincinnati/Colerain) finished tied for eighth of 62 men at 4-over-par 76.
- Sophomore Ian Briars (Maumee/Anthony Wayne) and freshman Tyler Colson (Centerville) were tied for 12th at 5-over-par 77.
- Senior Austin Hanni-Wells (Findlay/Liberty Benton) rounded out the Polar Bear scoring with an eight-over-par 80.
- Freshman Brace Dillinger (Elyria/Catholic) carded a career-best 13-over-par 85.
Notables
- Diesel aced the 175-yard third with a 7-iron and Hess aced the 180-yard sixth hole with a 7-iron, giving ONU's men three holes-in-one this fall.
- The teams played 18 holes in a 10:15 shotgun start on Monday.
- ONU head coach Chad Bucci is 474-410-16 in his 13th season at the helm of the men's program, a winning percentage of .536.
