Men's Golf split-squads win Lourdes Invitational, finish second at Trine (Ind.)

The Ohio Northern men's golf team played across the Midwest on Tuesday, winning the Lourdes Fall Invitational in Ottawa Lake, Mich., and finishing second at the Trine (Ind.) Ken Venturi Invitational in Angola, Ind.
The Basics
- Ohio Northern finished first of 15 teams at Lourdes with a 12-over par 300.
- ONU finished second of four teams in Angola with a 4-over par 288.
- ONU Season Record: 18-2.
- Venues: Sylvania Country Club and Zollner Golf Club.
ONU Individuals - Trine
- Junior Aashir Patel (Schaumburg, Ill./Conant) came second of 55 golfers with an impressive four-under par 67.
- Senior Evan Dennison (Ashland/Mapleton) came 7th with an even-par 71.
- Sophomore Dylan Potts (Dublin/Jerome) tied for 14th with a 75.
- Senior Bennett Christy (Plymouth, Ind.) tied for 14th with a 75.
- In all, 19 Polar Bear golfers competed at Trine with recording scores in the 70s.
ONU Individuals - Lourdes
- Freshman Brett Bagatti (Medina/Akron Hoban) led the Polar Bears with a 1-over par 73, finishing tied for second of 115 players on the 6895-yard course.
- Freshman Zach Butcher (Medina/Highland) scored a 74 to tie for eighth.
- Sophomore Ian Briars (Maumee/Anthony Wayne) fired a 76 to tie for 15th.
- Freshman Sam Cramer (Plain City/Alder) tied for 26th with a 77.
- In all, 10 Polar Bear golfers competed in Sylvania with six of them recording scores in the 70s.

- Junior Aashir Patel (Schaumburg, Ill./Conant) has broken par for the second time this season.
- Sophomore Ty Keinath (Shelby/Shelby) scored his career-low at Trine with 75.
- Freshman Zach Butcher (Medina/Highland) continues his hot start to his career shooting just 3 over par.
- Freshman Alex Diesel (Cincinnati/Colerain) shot a 73 at Lourdes playing as an individual.
- ONU head coach Chad Bucci is 445-405-16 in his 13th season at the helm of the men's program, a winning percentage of .523.
