Two earn All-Conference honors as Men's Golf finishes third at 2025 OAC Championships

WEST LAFAYETTE — The Ohio Northern men's golf team finished in third place at rain-shortened 2025 Ohio Athletic Conference Championships on Sunday.
The Basics
- The tournament was shortened to 54 holes as play was suspended in the early afternoon on Saturday as players were finishing round two and beginning round three.
- The teams finished round two, then played round three on Sunday to complete the tournament.
- Ohio Northern was third of nine teams with a 41-over par 295-296-303—897.

- Junior Joey DeSimone (Monroe Falls/Stow-Monroe Falls) earned All-OAC honors by finishing 13th with a 10-over par 74-78-72—224.
- Junior Bennett Christy (Plymouth, Ind.) tied for 15th with a 13-over par 72-73-82—227.
- Senior Andrew Briars (Maumee/Anthony Wayne) tied for 24th with an 18-over par 77-76-79—232.
- Freshman Dylan Potts (Dublin/Jerome) tied for 29th with a 19-over par 77-81-75—233.
Notables
- The top 14 individuals and ties earn All-Conference honors.
- Ian Briars led the Polar Bears in scoring this season with a 75.5 average for 23 rounds.
- DeSimone was second at 77.4 for 22 rounds, Christy was third at 77.6 for 22 rounds and Andrew Briars was fourth at 77.7 for 20 rounds.
- ONU head coach Chad Bucci is 436-413-16 in his 12th season at the helm of the men's program, a winning percentage of .512.
