Men's Golf wraps up regular season with third place finish at Otterbein Easter Leftover Tournament

SUNBURY — The Ohio Northern men's golf team wrapped up its regular season with a third place finish at the Otterbein Easter Leftover Tournament on a warm and windy Monday.
The Basics
- Ohio Northern finished third of seven teams with a 36-over par 324.
- Otterbein won the team title with a 301, Marietta was second with a 317 and Capital and Heidelberg tied for fourth with 328s.
- ONU Season Record: 61-49.

ONU Individuals
- Junior Joey DeSimone (Monroe Falls/Stow-Monroe Falls) led the Polar Bears with a 78 to finish tied for sixth out of 65 golfers.
- Freshman Dylan Potts (Dublin/Jerome) tied for 10th with a 79.
- Junior Ben Fantaci (Miamisburg/Kettering Fairmont) carded an 80 to tie for 12th.
Notables
- Thus far this season, freshman Ian Briars (Maumee/Anthony Wayne) leads the Polar Bears in scoring with a 76.3 average for 20 rounds.
- Senior Andrew Briars (Maumee/Anthony Wayne) is second at 77.76 for 17 rounds, while DeSimone and junior Bennett Christy (Plymouth, Ind.) are tied for third at 77.84 for 19 rounds.
- This was the sixth of six tournaments for Ohio Northern this spring.
- ONU head coach Chad Bucci is 427-411-16 in his 12th season at the helm of the men's program, a winning percentage of .509.
