Men's Golf finishes sixth at Walsh Cavalier Classic

CANTON — The Ohio Northern men's golf team finished sixth of eight teams at the Walsh Cavalier Classic Monday and Tuesday at Glenmoor Country Club.
The Polar Bears (22-26-4 overall) finished with a 315-316-307—938 to finish second of four among NCAA Division III teams.
The top three spots all went to Division II schools, with Walsh winning the event with an 867. Malone was second at 877 and Ferris State was third at 878 with Ohio Athletic Conference foe John Carroll finishing fourth with a 901.
Senior Nolan Kimberly (Zanesville) led Ohio Northern with a 77-76-76—229 to tie for 24th out of 70 golfers on the par-72, 6854-yard course.
Junior Josh Steyer (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) was 28th with a 76-76-79—231, senior Andrew Slusher (Covington) tied for 45th with an 80-84-77—241 and senior Austin White (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Township) tied for 49th with an 85-80-78—243.
Ferris State's Thomas Hursey won Medalist honors with an 8-under par 71-69-68—208.
The Polar Bears will return to action Friday and Saturday at the Defiance Invitational.
