Men's Golf finishes 2nd of 8 teams at annual Polar Bear Classic

HARROD — The Ohio Northern men's golf team finished second of eight teams at the annual Polar Bear Classic on Saturday and Sunday at Colonial Golfers Club.
The Polar Bears (29-29-1 overall) followed a first round 307 on Saturday with a 301 on Sunday to finish with a 608 and trailed only NCAA Division II foe Tiffin, who won the team title with a 298-297—595.
Lourdes was third with a 308-304—612 and Capital was fourth with a 316-297—613.
Junior Zach Goodchild (Pickerington/North) finished second of 53 golfers with a 2-over par 70-74—144 on the 6788-yard course.
Senior Tyler Davis (Liberty Center) joined Goodchild on the All-Tournament Team with a fifth place finish with a 76-74—150.
The top five individuals (including ties) were named to the All-Tournament Team.
Senior Blaine Ricketts (Belle Center/Ben Logan) tied for 14th with a 79-75—154 and sophomore Nick Anderson (Mason) tied for 26th with an 82-78—160.
The Polar Bears will return to action April 9-10 with the OAC Spring Invitational at the Cumberland Trails Golf Club in Pataskala.
