Senior Pat Helman named Academic All-OAC in Men's Golf for 2013-14

ADA — Ohio Northern senior Pat Helman was named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference in men's golf for 2013-14.

A total of 302 student-athletes in baseball, softball, men's and women's golf, lacrosse, tennis and track and field among the league's 10 schools were named Academic All-OAC.

The award winners must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and have a cumulative grade-point- average of at least 3.50.

Ohio Northern had 32 student/athletes named Academic All-OAC this spring.

In 17 rounds this season, Helman averaged 86.3 strokes and carded three rounds in the 70s.

A pharmacy major, Helman played in 48.5 career rounds with an 84.5 average and eight rounds in the 70s.

This marks the second consecutive season that helman has earned the honor.

The Polar Bears finished their season with a 37-51-2 overall record and were sixth at the OAC Championships under first-year head coach Chad Bucci.
