Brandon Lambert fires a 77 to lead Men's Golf after first round of 2014 OAC Championships

WEST LAFAYETTE -- Sophomore Brandon Lambert fired a 5-over par 77 to lead Ohio Northern after 18 holes of the 72-hole Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championships Friday at River Greens Golf Course.
The Polar Bears are tied for fifth out of eight teams with Mount Union after the first round with a 314.
The 40 players actually played 27 holes on Friday, but only the first 18 holes were reported.
Lambert is tied for seventh after the first 18 holes.
The top 10 players and ties at the end of the tournament on Sunday receive All-OAC accolades.
Sophomore Rick Deichert earned All-OAC honors with a fifth place finish a year ago and currently is tied for 16th with freshman teammate Tyler Davis with 78s.
Junior Ted Loewendick is tied for 29th with an 81 and freshman Blaine Ricketts carded an 82 to stand in 32nd place.
Baldwin Wallace leads the team standings with a 303, Otterbein is second with a 307 and Capital is third with a 309.
The teams will play 27 more holes on Saturday and will wrap up the tournament with 18 holes on Sunday.
